THE FORTUNE SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
Established in 2017, the Fortune School of Excellence has provided both primary and secondary education and skills training to over 1500 orphans and vulnerable children in the Solwezi district. The school aims to support these students through engaging educational classes and activities while advancing their future educational paths and STEM education in Solwezi.
Backstory
Building a school for vulnerable children was at the core of CCCYD's founder Alex Bwaluka's mission when founding CCCYD. The Edinburgh Global Partnership (EGP) graciously helped construct the first classroom at the Fortune School of Excellence. In 2018, the Australian Embassy provided additional support to construct another classroom block. The school currently has 348 enrolled students, and we are continuously working to expand our classrooms in order to grow our impact and provide supplementary educational resources.
An Education for Every Child
The Fortune School of Excellence provides daily classes to students in a variety of subjects. Our teachers are dedicated to developing the educational capabilities of their students by building their problem-solving, creativity, and thinking skills through a variety of means through STEM program
Additional Resource Support
In addition to providing educational resources, the Fortune School of Excellence provides provisions of educational assistance including uniforms, jerseys, and shoes to assist parents in supporting the needs of their children. This effort aims to reduce educational abandonment resulting from a lack of resources or educational provisions.
